Reliable Guardianship Services is a Washington State Certified Professional Guardianship Agency (certification #11286). Reliable Guardianship Services is dedicated to providing the highest quality of support to our clients. We carefully evaluate each situation and develop a plan to meet each individual's needs centered on health & safety. We strive to maintain as much independence as possible for each client.

STAFF

Paula Zamudio is an accomplished long-term program coordinator and client advocate. In addition to being a certified professional guardian, her background includes 15 years experience providing resource coordination, support groups, case management, program management and collaboration with organizations providing support and advocacy to individuals with developmental disabilities. Paula has been a certified professional guardian since February 2007.

Marykay Lamoureaux is also a certified professional guardian, certified in 2006. She has a Bachelors degree in business as well as an AAS degree in paralegal studies. She has extensive experience in estate settlement and served as Trustee for a California Special Needs Trust for four years. Most recently she has worked as the Treasurer for her homeowners' association with fiduciary responsibility of an annual operating budget, for 99 homes, in excess of $200,000.

SERVICES

• Guardianship of Personal and/or Estate: We provide (by court authority) medical, personal and/or financial decision making on behalf of an incapacitated individual.
• Trusteeship/Special Needs Trusts: We provide management of funds or property held by one person (the Trustee) for the benefit of another (the Beneficiary). A Special Needs Trust allows the beneficiary to maintain eligibility for public support and receive other federal or state benefits.
• Durable (or General) Power of Attorney for Healthcare or Finances: We accept the voluntary and competent designation by a person to transact personal business, manage financial or other affairs on their behalf. This involves no court action.
• Representative/Protective Payee Services: We accept delegation by the Social Security Administration, DSHS, Veterans Administration, or other government agency to receive the income of a person. Allows for bill paying and financial management.
• Standby Services: We offer to become standby guardians, powers of attorney, or make similar arrangements with competent adults (or family members of a vulnerable adult) in which we are named for future planning purposes. This requires we maintain some records about the person.
• Fees: Professional guardianship services are billed at $80 per hour. Basic financial services at $45 per hour and travel at $45 per hour. A detailed monthly billing statement including itemized charges billed to the 1/4 of an hour is provided to the legal or financially responsible party for payment.
